Russell F. Kelly

  Russell F. Kelly, M.D., F.A.C.C., is the Chairman of Cardiology and Director of the Fellowship Program at Cook County Hospital, in Chicago, Illinois. A board certified specialist in Cardiovascular Disease, he is an Assistant Professor of Medicine at Rush Medical College. Dr. Kelly received his medical degree from the Indiana University School of Medicine in Indianapolis, and completed an Internship and Residency in Internal Medicine at Bellevue Hospital and New York University Medical Center in New York City. Dr. Kelly received his Cardiology training at Rush-Presbyterian-St. Luke's Medical Center in Chicago, where he also completed an additional year of specialized training in Interventional Cardiology.
 

  Research interests pursued by Dr. Kelly include delivery of cardiovascular care to minorities, adjunctive therapies for acute myocardial infarction, and preclinical evaluation of new interventional devices. He has presented papers on these topics to scientific sessions of the American College of Cardiology, the American Heart Association, and the American Federation for Clinical Research. Dr. Kelly has also contributed articles and abstracts to the American Heart Journal, Circulation, Journal of the American College of Cardiology, and other medical journals. In addition, he has served as a reviewer for numerous journals and for the American Board of Internal Medicine.
 

  Dr. Kelly is a recipient of the Award for Meritorious Service from the American Heart Association of Chicago, and is a member of the American Heart Association, and is a Fellow of the American College of Cardiology.
