Michael Shapiro, M.D.

  Dr. Shapiro is a graduate of the University of Michigan and Wayne State University School of Medicine. He trained in internal medicine at Indiana University Medical Center in Indianapolis, and was a cardiology fellow at Rush Presbyterian - St. Lukes Medical Center in Chicago.

  His clinical interests include echocardiography, adult congenital heart disease, hypertension, and cardiovascular disease in immigrant and underserved populations.

  He has served as the site investigator in the SPS3 and HART trials and is currently director of the Cook County Hospital heart station.
